Curl Definition User-Generated Content (UGC) Policy

Ownership

You retain ownership of any content submitted, but by submitting, you confirm that the content is your original work and does not infringe upon the rights of any third party.

Grant of License

By submitting content (photos, videos, reviews, testimonials, etc.) to Curl Definition, you grant Curl Definition a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide, transferable, and sub-licensable license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, and display the content in any media formats and through any media channels, including but not limited to our website, social media channels, email marketing, and print materials.

Content Requirements

To ensure high-quality submissions, all UGC must:

• Be your original work (you must own all rights to the content).
• Feature only Curl Definition products.
• Be clear, well-lit, and of good audio/visual quality.
• Be free from any offensive, inappropriate, or discriminatory content (this includes offensive language, hateful speech, nudity, controlled substances, and any content violating community standards).

Content Categories

Content submissions must fall under one of the approved categories:

• Lifestyle picture
• Lifestyle 15-30 second video.
• Before-and-after picture or 15-30 second video.
• Video review (1-3 minutes).
• Video tutorial (step-by-step styling guide).

Approval Process

Content is subject to review by the Curl Definition team for approval before any incentives (e.g., product distribution or store credits) are awarded. Not all submissions will be approved.

• Approved content for the October Customer Highlight program may earn the following:
• A single product
• $25 for lifestyle pictures or 15-30 second videos.
• $50 for before-and-after pictures or 15-30 second videos.
• $100 for 1-3 minute video reviews.
• $200 for step-by-step video tutorials.
• Incentives are subject to change

Incentive Distribution

Once content is approved, the submitter will receive the corresponding store credit. Curl Definition reserves the right to determine whether content meets our standards and qualifies for an incentive. There is no set time frame in which the content submitted will be approved.

Note: Submissions are accepted and spotlighted on a first-come, first-served basis.

By submitting content, you confirm and warrant that:

• You own all rights to the content or have obtained proper permissions to submit it.
• All persons appearing in the content (if applicable) have given their express consent to be included and featured.
• The content does not violate any intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other legal rights of any third party.
• The content does not contain any false or misleading information about Curl Definition products.

Curl Definition reserves the right to:

• Modify the content (e.g., cropping or adding text) for promotional purposes.
• Remove or reject any content that violates this policy or is deemed inappropriate for our brand or community.

By submitting content, you agree to allow Curl Definition to publicly display your name, social media handle, and other identifying information as part of the content’s publication. However, we will never share or sell your personal data to third parties without your explicit consent.

Your submission must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Curl Definition is not liable for any damages or legal claims arising from the submission, display, or use of UGC in violation of any laws or third-party rights.

Curl Definition reserves the right to revoke a submitter’s participation in the UGC program if any fraudulent, illegal, or unethical behavior is detected or if the terms of this policy are violated.
